Greek School
St. George Greek School
Youth Afternoon Program
Our mission is to teach the Greek language, Greek Culture and Greek Orthodox Faith.
The students will be able to have a better understanding of their Greek Orthodox heritage in a comfortable and happy environment that will strengthen their faith, enrich the historic and cultural events of their Greek descent, and develop a religious and patriotic awareness and identity to become tomorrow’s active members of the St. George Greek community.
Our curriculum and instruction promote the Greek language, the Greek Orthodox faith, the Greek culture, as well as help the children in completing the intellectual development of positive, moral and ethical growth.
We emphasize our language program by daily natural dialogue, school theatre, dramatization, songs, and school events.
Greek Language Class Dates & Times:
Saint George youth Greek Language & Culture classes are offered as early as PreK (must be 5years old) through Middle School. Classes convene Tuesday through Friday afternoons (dependant on Level) promptly at 4:45 p.m from September through May. Classes end at 6:45p.m.
Schedule for the 2024-25 School year is below:
A Special Message To Parents
Learning a second language is not an easy task; made all the more difficult by having classes only meet once a week. This is why it is important for parents to make sure that their children are present promptly at 4:45 p.m. for the beginning of their class time. We also need to make sure that they arrive prepared and ready to learn.
As parents, we have a responsibility to make sure that our children take the time to review their lessons and complete their homework assignments each and every week. As instructors, we need to make sure that we teach the Greek Language with enthusiasm and provide every opportunity for our children to learn and experience the beauty of the Greek Language, Hellenic Culture and Orthodox Faith.
